| Facilities Information Modeling & Management (FIMM) | | |
|
FIMM is defined as using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in combination with Facilities Management (FM) practices. The combined producing a method to manage facilities information in a centralized data source. FIMM allows organizations to control building services while providing a method for version control, archive and sustainability.
FIMM as an organizational structure, assists with Return On Investment (ROI) by centralizing building services. Giving multiple entities access to one data source, enabling different outcomes. Thus reducing the investment in data collection, tracking and version control.
The FIMM/BIM connection: The connection is in the DATA. While developing our BIM application as an integrated architectural modeling service for our building clients, CDA has developed a process to use the DATA for Facilities. With the incorporation of multiple forms of information into a structured DATA source, facilities will focus on the management of the DATA and less on the organizational structure.
